If you love old cars and racing, then you must visit the district of Bellahøj this coming weekend
The Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix (CHGP), a street race for older, classic cars, takes place here.
CHGP has been held since 2001 and last year had just under 40,000 guests. On Friday, the event kicks off with a reception at Copenhagen City Hall
The cars start on Friday at 12:15 from Bellahøj Park and arrive in a motorcade at Rådhuspladsen with expected arrival approx. at 12:30 p.m.
At Rådhuspladsen you can see an exhibition of historic racing cars and super sports cars from the CHGP event.
If you either want to see more about the program, you can visit the website. Here you can also read about the traffic restrictions, as several roads are closed, rerouted or one-way in the coming days.
His Royal Highness Prince Joachim is patron of the Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix, which also counts top Danish drivers such as Tom Kristensen and Jan Magnussen as ambassadors.
Among other things, CHGP collects money for the Child Youth Program at Rigshospitalet.
