Erdogan gobbled up majority of diaspora votes in Denmark

Over 60 percent of Turks living in Denmark voted in favour of incumbent leader in the run-off election on Sunday
Recep Erdogan will remain Turkey’s president for the foreseeable future following a close run-off election on Sunday.
In part, Erdogan can thank the Turkish diaspora living in Denmark for that result – well over 60 percent of Turks living in Denmark voted for the long-time leader to remain in power.
Of the 37,864 Turks eligible to vote in Denmark – at the embassy in Copenhagen and at a voting area in Aarhus – 15,663 cast their vote.

Almost 70 percent in Aarhus
In Copenhagen, Erdogan secured over 60 percent of the votes, while he performed even better in Aarhus (over 68 percent).
Erdogan was declared the winner over opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu, racking up a majority 52.16 percent of the votes.
Erdogan supporters celebrated the victory at City Hall Square in Copenhagen on Sunday night.
