A challenge of senses between Portuguese and Danish flavours

On the 23 September 2022, the CPH Cooking Class at Copenhagen hosted a show
cooking with the Chef Hassan Chour that aimed to surprise with new flavors
associated to traditional Danish recipes.
The initiative was promoted by InovCluster – Association of the Agro-Industrial Cluster
of the Centre in partnership with ADVID – Vine and Wine Cluster and CoLAB
VINES&WINES under the scope of Taste & Feel Portugal Project. On 23rd September
2022 at the end of the afternoon, 35 guests joined for a show cooking hosted by the
chef and opinion-maker Hassan Chour.
Before the show-cooking, all guests had the opportunity to taste traditional Portuguese
products such as chorizos, cheeses, jams, and snacks, which set the tone for the
beginning of a great evening of networking around delicious food.
From Vinho Verde to Romkugler
During the show-cooking were cooked and given to taste Herrings with Trás-os-Montes
Olive Oil, Portuguese chestnuts and a salad with flowers served with a unique and
valued Portuguese wine: Vinho Verde. This dish was complemented by a traditional
Danish dessert, the Romkugler, which was accompanied by the traditional Portuguese
Ginginha de Óbidos served in a chocolate cup.
The initiative generated a lot of interaction on site and accounted with the presence of
of the Ambassador of Portugal in Denmark, Mr. João Maria Cabral, the board of
Portugisisk Forening i Danmark | Associação Portuguesa na Dinamarca, importers, chefs
and various enthusiasts for food and Portuguese culture.
Great networking event
The participants were delighted with the presented dish and several highlighted the
flavor of the Olive Oil and flavor-laden chestnut puree. The incomparable Ginginha de
Óbidos served in the traditional way also delighted the guests and closed the afternoon
with a golden key.
There was a great interaction on social networks after this event, with several posts
about the Portuguese products demonstrated.
Through this event, it was possible to establish contact with several people interested
in Portuguese culture and products who showed great openness to take the flavors of
Portugal further in Denmark.
