That said, there are plenty of things to look out for in 2021 when it comes to the stock exchange. Events like the pandemic will hopefully come to an end and what could that mean for stock in restaurant chains. And it’s also going to be hard to overlook the impact of a new American President on the stock market even on a global scale. And then there’s of course Brexit and the question of how it will affect the Danish stock market.

Find a platform to invest from

There are several things you can do to get started with investing in the stock market. Unless your bank offers a solid platform for you to invest from, you might want to check out what other platforms might have to offer. Via Financer you can find the platform suited for you. Then, an Investment isn’t as complicated as you might think.

There are plenty of platforms on the Danish market, that you can try out. For starters both eToro and Saxo Investor have a high degree of user friendliness. That means that as a beginner or somebody who initially know nothing about stocks, it’s a great gateway to the world of investing. Where Saxo has a small brokerage fee, eToro is free from the beginning and only charges a very small percentage of your investments.

What eToro doesn’t have is a Danish customer service. Both Saxo Investor, DeGiro and Nordnet all have a Danish speaking department, so you can get in touch with them in your native language. There might be some phrases and terms that are difficult to follow in English as a Danish speaker, so it’s worth mentioning.

Learn from people who knows the market

If you are looking for new and exciting investments for January 2021 look no further. Youtube is an exceptional tool if you want to learn not only the basics but how to improve your knowledge and foresight into the stock market. The advice you’ll get from people who are knowledgeable applies not only for 2021, but for the stock market in general.

For example, it’s important to be aware of your surroundings. Because of the events in the travel industry in 2020, it might not be the best time to invest in airlines. The same logic also applies to the restaurant business. But what about green energy? Or other sustainable initiatives? When a part of the stock market lose value, there are almost certainly somebody who gains from it.

Therefore, what you should look out for in 2021 is the companies and enterprises who will gain from the world we live in right now. That might not be an easy task but if you do your research and learn from people who do this for a living, you might be able to find a way into the stock market that you will benefit from.

What’s going on in your neighborhood?

When people invest in the stock market, they tend to look to Europe or America for stocks to invest in. That might not always be the best idea. Even though you can get a lot of value out of Silicon Valley these days, you might also benefit from looking to your local market and finding companies that are on the rise.

As soon as your find the companies you find interesting and intriguing, it’s up to you to decide how much to invest. It’s always a good idea to start small and then let your initial stocks grow. With patience you can go a long way. Remember, it’s very few people who can make money from day-to-day trading, and you most definitely will not. You’ll experience downsides as well. But with a long-term strategy you can invest in a calm and decent manner and give yourself the best opportunities for success on the stock exchange.

A survey carried out by Megafon for TV2 has found that 71 percent of parents have handed over children to daycare in spite of them being sick.

Moreover, 21 percent of those surveyed admitted to medicating their kids with paracetamol, such as Panodil, before sending them to school.

The FOLA parents’ organisation is shocked by the findings.

“I think it is absolutely crazy. It simply cannot be that a child goes to school sick and plays with lots of other children. Then we are faced with the fact that they will infect the whole institution,” said FOLA chair Signe Nielsen.

Pill pushers
At the Børnehuset daycare institution in Silkeborg a meeting was called where parents were implored not to bring their sick children to school.

At Børnehuset there are fears that parents prefer to pack their kids off with a pill without informing teachers.

“We occasionally have children who that they have had a pill for breakfast,” said headteacher Susanne Bødker. “You might think that it is a Panodil more than a vitamin pill, if it is a child who has just been sick, for example.”

Parents sick and tired
Parents, when confronted, often cite pressure at work as a reason for not being able to stay at home with their children.

Many declare that they simply cannot take another day off, as they are afraid of being fired.

Allan Randrup Thomsen, a professor of virology at KU, has heavily criticised the parents’ actions, describing the current situation as a “vicious circle”.

“It promotes the spread of viruses, and it adds momentum to a cycle where parents are pressured by high levels of sick-leave. If they then choose to send the children to daycare while they are still recovering, they keep the epidemic going in daycares, and this in turn puts a greater burden on the parents.”
