NEFL champs Copenhagen Towers face CEFL bosses Swarco Raiders Tirol in Gentofte
After victories over the Norwegian, English and Swedish national champions en-route to becoming the Northern European Football League (NEFL) champions the next challenge for the Towers has now been made official.
Next up are the winners of the Central European Football League (CEFL), the Swarco Raiders Tirol of Innsbruck, Austria.
The Towers were awarded home field for the game, known as the Super Final, which is surely the biggest game in the history of Danish American football. The game will be played on Saturday, June 30 at 19:30 in Gentofte Sportspark.
In the latest European coaches ranking, the Towers are ranked 7th, which is the best ranking the club has ever had. Their forthcoming Austrian opponents are currently ranked 4th, so the Super Final will feature two teams from the absolute European elite.
Growth of a Game, a renowned US football site, has surveyed the European map of US football clubs and reports the number to be in the vicinity of 1,500 clubs. This means that the Towers are in the top half percent of all US football clubs in all of Europe.

Clash of the century
The Towers’ fan club and the organisation itself has felt great interest in the game and team president Jakob Munksgaard expects around 1,500 fans to attend the game.
The Towers do not shy away from calling this the biggest game in the 28-year-history of the club and hope for lots of support from expats and football fans alike.
The gates open at 18:00 and the Towers have planned a number of activities prior to the game as well as a celebration of the club’s flag football team, the Copenhagen Barbarians, who won a major European tournament earlier this summer.
