Tivoli’s summer panto series at its oriental-inspired outdoor theatre follows the familial exploits of father-daughter duo Cassander and Columbine.
Set in Old Copenhagen, the well-meaning father longs for his precious daughter to marry an appropriate suitor. But like all headstrong teen girls, Columbine has different ideas and falls for her father’s adversary, a roguish prankster named Harlequin. Unsurprisingly, Pops is not best pleased.
The music includes Strauss, Mozart and Gounod, as well as HC Lumbye, Tivoli’s once in-house composer. (AC)
