Danes warming up to ruining a perfectly good walk and wearing ugly pants
Golf, perhaps Scotland’s most evil export to the world, is getting hot in Denmark.
“Golf is doing very well,” Dansk Golf Union Jesper Jürgensen told DR Nyheder. “We are the fastest growing sport among people over 25-years-old.”
More clubbers and clubs
In the past 15 years, 50,000 people have joined the golfing union. In 2015, there were over 150,000 active members across the country.
There are 190 golf clubs registered across the country, the highest number ever.
The Breinholtgård club in Esbjerg added 265 new duffers in 2015.
“We are exceedingly pleased,” said club board chairman Sven Nielsen. “It is nicely distributed among all age groups.”
