Eco Ego believes women should not have to pay a high price for being female
The Eco Ego store in central Copenhagen has confirmed it will be selling all its menstrual hygiene products at an extra low price during the month of March.
The store owner, Bryan Traum, believes women should not have to pay a high price for pads and tampons and is willing to give up his profits.
Paying extra for uterus
“It seems wrong to me that large companies should profit because women menstruate and are dependent on hygiene products,” said Traum.
“It’s like paying an extra fee for having a uterus.”
Traum has therefore decided to launch a special campaign on the occasion of International Woman’s Day that falls on March 8.
Organic menstrual products
Throughout the month of March, Eco Ego will sell organic and eco-friendly menstrual products from companies such as ImseVimse, Natracare and Ruby Cup at a highly discounted price.
Eco Ego – Green Living Made Easy is an eco-lifestyle store located on Nørre Farimagsgade in the city centre as well as an online shop that specialises on products for environmentally-conscious consumers.
It sells organic, Fair Trade and sustainable products including clothes, body-care and home decor items, office supplies, bedding, alcohol beverages and confectionery.
