Lunch with immigration minster up for grabs in charity auction
This article is more than 8 years old.
The highest bidder will have the opportunity to question Inger Støjberg on her controversial asylum policies
The online auction house Laurtiz.com is offering the opportunity to buy a lunch with one of Denmark’s most talked about politicians of the moment, the integration and immigration minister, Inger Støjberg, and support the annual charity fundraiser Danmarks Indsamling.
Støjberg has rarely been out of the headlines in recent months owing to the government’s often-controversial policies to deal with the influx of refugees. For anyone wanting a first-hand account of the reasoning behind confiscating asylum-seekers’ valuables, or what it feels like to be compared to an image of a piece of ham on social media, this is your chance.

The highest bidder by the time bidding closes on February 6 will join Støjberg for lunch on February 15 at Skive’s Hotel Strandtangen in central Jutland. The online auction opened on Saturday and so far 47 bids have been placed, ranging from 300 kroner to 1,750 kroner. Lauritz.com valued the lot at 2,000 kroner.
All money raised by the auction, including Lauritz.com’s commission, will be donated to Danmarks Indsamling, a fundraising campaign organised annually by 12 humanitarian organisations and culminating in a televised event on DR. This year the show will take place on February 6.
