Connie Nielsen even managed to make Russell Crowe look good in ‘Gladiator’
Danish actress Connie Nielsen has been chosen to play Wonder Woman’s mother in the upcoming feature film about the superhero.
Nielsen – famous for a series of eclectic roles dating back over the last 20 years, including turns in ‘Gladiator’, ‘Return to Sender’ and ‘The Good Wife’ – tweeted she is “delighted” to have been cast in the film and that she has already started preparing.
All-star cast
The film is set during WWI and features Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Star Trek star Chris Pine and Ewen Brenner, best known as Spud in ‘Trainspotting’, also appear in the upcoming film, which is filming in England and Italy.
“This is a period you do not see very often,” Pine said at a press conference. “The costumes are fantastic, and we have filmed scenes with 500 extras – all in full costume.”
