Influx of first-time property buyers to the island is boosting numbers at company LetsGo
Amager is becoming a hotspot for car sharing, according to the short-term car rental company LetsGo, which has 21 cars on the island that are currently being shared by more than 300 members.
Christian Rohmann, a project leader at LetsGo, said the demographic was suited to the concept of renting cars for short periods instead of ownership.
“It’s great to see the positive interest in sharing cars that’s coming from residents of Amager,” he said.
“Right now a lot of first-time buyers are moving to Amager from Østerbro, Vesterbro and Nørrebro, and we can notice that in our membership numbers. Many cycle to and from work in their daily lives and only need a car once in a while. So they choose to become members with us.”
LetsGo operates in 11 cities, including Copenhagen, Aarhus and Odense. The company maintains vehicles at different locations and users can find and reserve them online.
