With music festivals across the country gearing up for an eventful 2016, a number of top musicians have announced plans to stop by in Denmark next year.

The British pop/rockers Coldplay will be hitting Parken Stadium in Copenhagen on July 5 in the wake of the band’s new album ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ going live next month. Copenhagen will be the final stop on their tour, which will bring Chris Martin and company to Europe and South America.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday at 10:00 on billetnet.dk and prices are expected to range from 450-950 kroner.

Rihanna’s return
The last time Rihanna performed in Denmark was at the Roskilde Festival back in 2013, but the R&B/pop star will make her return to Danish shores when she shows off her talents on Refshaleøen on July 7.

The Barbadian singer comes to Copenhagen as part of ‘The Anti World Tour’ and she’ll be supported by the likes of Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd and US rapper Big Sean.

Ticket sales start on December 3 at 10:00 via livenation.dk.

Cash-in in Tønder
In music, the name Cash is synonymous with one man. The Man in Black. But he had a daughter back in 1955 and Rosanne Cash has followed in her father’s footsteps to become a Nashville legend in her own right. In fact, she was inducted to the ‘Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame’ last month.

Cash, who won three Grammy Awards for her 2014 album ‘The River & The Thread’, will be taking part in the country’s top folk and country festival, the Tønder Festival, in August next year.

Tickets for the Tønder Festival go on sale on December 1.

Curing Forum
If country won’t cure your blues, you might fall in love on Friday October 14 by heading to Forum in Copenhagen to see the legendary British goth band The Cure.

As part of their ‘The Cure Tour 2016’, Robert Smith and company will play a mix of hits and rarities in their first visit to Denmark since the 2012 Roskilde Festival. Scottish band The Twilight Sad will offer support.

Tickets will cost 600 kroner and sales start on December 1 at 10:00 on livenation.dk and billetnet.dk.

Iron will
Hardrockers and metal heads will have harvested much sorrow when Lamb of God cancelled its upcoming Vega gig, but there is no need to run to the hills just yet. Iron Maiden are on the way to relieve any head banging withdrawal syndrome.

Bruce Dickinson and Ed Force One will touch down at the Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning on June 21 in the slipstream of their new double album ‘The Book Of Souls’. Swedish metal band Ghost are coming along as a special guest and The Raven Age will support.
