Wozniacki injury scare ahead of Wimbledon

Draw reasonably kind to Dane compared to French Open
Caroline Wozniacki’s participation in next week’s Wimbledon remains in doubt following her unexpected withdrawal from the Aegon International semi-finals on Friday due to back pain.
Trailing 0-3 in the first set to the eventual tournament winner, Swiss teenager Belinda Bencic, the 24-year-old Dane pulled out as a precautionary measure.
Confident about playing
She explained at her press conference afterwards that she would visit her physio and osteopath in London and was confident she would be ready for Wimbledon.
“We are just going to start with the treatment as soon as I can,” she told media
“Normally my body is very receptive to treatment, so hopefully I’m going to be fine in a couple of days.”
Relatively easy draw
Wozniacki is drawn to play China’s Zheng Saisai in the first round, most probably on Tuesday, and has a much easier draw that in her last grand slam, the French Open.
German hard hitter Sabine Lisicki or Romanian world number three Simona Halep are her most probable opponents should she make the last eight.
Her nemesis Serena Williams along with Maria Sharapova and Victoria Azarenka are all in the other half of the draw.
Wozniacki is 40/1 to win her first grand slam tournament.
