Cold beer, good tunes and some football fun in the sun this Saturday ahead of the European Championship qualifier
This Saturday, DBU will take over Fælledparken in a explosion of red and white colours, celebrating Denmark’s important qualifier match against Serbia on June 13.
The day starts at 12pm, when DBU will host its legendary ‘World Cup Penalty’ shootout competition. Later, Fælledparken will transform into an immense fan zone, where football enthusiasts and dedicated gamblers will spend their time warming up for the match against Serbia.
Launched in 2014, the successful ‘World Cup Penalty’ concept is for anyone wishing to show off their skills as a penalty shooter. But keep in mind, it is only the preliminary tournament – the finals will be hosted at the City Hall Square in Copenhagen on Saturday June 27.
Cold beer and cool tunes
No matter what the outcome of the match is, the day promises to be a celebration of good times and goal scoring, as feverish fans pack the park to its brim.
DBU’s DJ will be warming up the crowd with plenty of football tunes, and Carlsberg will be there in their FanVan, pouring cold beer and serving up sausages to the masses. You can even buy the latest national team gear from the Teams Shop on site.
There will be plenty of football-related activities with great prizes for everyone, so bring your friends and family for a festive day in the park. There will be dribbling courses and a speed cage, which measures how hard you kick. If you’re lucky, the sun might even make an appearance.
“Football is about being together and having fun. With the World Cup penalty and activities of the Fan Zone, we aim to create good experiences for fans and boost the matchday atmosphere,” says Katja Moesgaard, the commercial director of DBU.
The World Cup Penalty competition starts at 12:00 and goes on til 17:00, whilst the fan zone opens at 17:45. At 20:45, Denmark will kick off against Serbia in their European Championship qualifier.
The Fan Zone will open three hours before kick-off, closing down half an hour before the referee blows the final whistle.
The party is located at Fælledparken behind Telia park grandstand D.
