Young man left for dead at entrance of Rigshopitalet
UPDATE: The deceased 19-year-old man has been identified as Hamza Samsam, who is the younger brother of the notorious Syrian rebel Ahmed Samsam.
According to Ekstra Bladet, the victim has also fought in Syria against the Assad regime in the past.
A 19-year-old man, who was dropped off at the entrance of Rigshospitalet on Tuesday afternoon with stab wounds, died in hospital a few hours after being admitted.
“We are not yet sure what happened in this situation,” Henrik Brix from Copenhagen Police told BT.
“We believe the crime scene happened somewhere on Guldbergsgade [in Nørrebro], but this is all we can confirm at the moment,” said Brix.
Multiple leads, still no answers
A witness has already told police he saw the 19-year-old man in a brawl a short time before the stabbing.
“We have lots of leads that we will, of course, look into. However, at the moment, we have no motive, perpetrator or anything,” explained Brix.
It is also unknown whether those who drove the victim to the hospital were involved in the attack.
“It is not yet known whether it was the offender himself or acquaintances. We do not know anything, so we have our work cut out and it is definitely a priority for today,” said Brix.
Police are calling for witnesses, or anyone with any insight into what happened on Tuesday afternoon, to contact them.
