Attended by a large number of diplomats and Pakistani officials, the exhibition offered them the opportunity to learn more about emerging female artists and voices in Pakistani culture.
Double celebration for women
The launch was an opportunity for the Danish ambassador, Jesper Sorensen, to announce the launch of a Danish-sponsored cultural program in Pakistan and to mark the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote in Denmark.
“All of our activities will have gender as a cross-cutting feature this year, and we also have gender-specific projects as part of both our development and stabilisation activities”, Sorensen told the Express Tribune.
“By integrating gender in the mainstream planning of peace, security, and humanitarian actions, we are not only promoting women empowerment and participation, but also believe that we help build stronger communities."
