Aalborg punter smashes odds record
This article is more than 10 years old.
139,000 kroner won on two kroner bet
Barely a week after a punter from Silkeborg set a new record for the highest ever odds won on an accumulator bet in the history of the state gambling operator Danske Spil, someone's gone and smashed his record. And convincingly so.
The lucky gambler in Aalborg scored odds of an astounding 69,580/1 on an accumulator bet that involved four football matches ending in 1-1 draws and one handball bet in which at least two of the six World Championship matches that day had to end as a draw.

Perhaps the only drawback for the fortunate punter was that they only wagered two kroner to win 139,160 kroner, so the winnings were actually lower than the winner last week, who won 351,193 kroner off a 10 kroner bet that yielded odds of 35,000/1.
But the new record holder can rest assured that his tremendous odds record is twice as good as the previous Danske Spil record.
The five matches on the accumulator bet were:
Mali-Cameroon: 1-1. Odds: 7.35
Ivory Coast-Guinea: 1-1 Odds: 9.20
Liverpool-Chelsea: 1-1. Odds: 7.35
Roma-Empoli: 1-1. Odds: 10.00
The number of drawn matches out of the six World Cup handball matches of the day? Two or more. Odds: 14.00 (Denmark vs Germany and France vs Iceland both ended in draws)
