Nordisk Film unveils huge cinema expansion plans

The next two years are expected to be big
The world's oldest still-functioning film studio Nordisk Film (NF) has revealed that it will build four new cinemas over the next couple of years.
The four cinemas will be located in Køge, Frederiksund, Aalborg and Ørestaden in Copenhagena. At Ørestad there will be a massive cinema centre, which is due to open next summer and will feature nine screens and 1,500 seats.
“We are opening three new cinemas because we still have great belief in cinema film,” Lars Jørgensen, NF's head of Danish cinemas, told Finans.dk.
“2015 and 2016 will be fantastic cinema years. Next year we will have a new James Bond and Star Wars 7, so it'll almost be like celebrating Christmas twice in one year.”

Further expansion
The cinema in Aalborg – which will offer six screens and about 710 seats – will be NF's second cinema in the city, while the cinema in Køge, will have six screens and about 840 seats and will be run in co-operation with the owner of the only other cinema in town, Køge Bio.
Finally, the cinema in Frederiksund will be the smallest of the bunch with four screens and about 550 seats.
Jørgensen went on to underline that NF was not done expanding, although he wouldn't reveal whether there were plans afoot for the construction of cinemas other than these four new ones.
