Flights to Nice, Split and Bergen get the axe
Scandinavian Airlines has announced that it will close down a number of routes abroad from Aalborg and Billund due to a lack of demand.
The airline has chosen to cut routes its routes from Aalborg and Billund airports to France's Nice airport and to Split in Croatia. Only the route between Billund and Gazipasa, Turkey will reopen for the 2015 summer season.
”There hasn't been a satisfactory market indication,” Trine Kromann-Mikkelsen, the head of communications at SAS, told Børsen business newspaper.
”It doesn't mean that we have abandoned our strategy of focusing on holiday routes from regional airports for the summer. We want to look at new opportunities and the market can change.”

Malaga for winter
Aside from the route to Gazipasa, SAS will only be offering domestic routes from Aalborg and Billund and flights to Oslo and Stockholm. The route to Bergen from Billund has also been scrapped.
This winter, SAS will try to attract some sun-yearning customers by opening up a new route from Billund to Malaga.
This year is the third year in a row that SAS offers its customers routes to traditional holiday destinations.
