New Dong plant to increase biogas supply
The engineering trade publication Ingeniøren reports that Dong Energy is building a processing plant and has entered into an agreement with the biogas producer Linkogas to purchase gas from manure, which will be processed and delivered to consumers through the gas network.
Doubling green gas
Dong will thereby, by the end of 2015, be able to deliver 13 million cubic metres of processed biogas, the equivalent of 9,000 households’s consumption and seven percent of Dong’s sale of gas to private customers.
“The agreement is important because it doubles the amount of green gas that we have available to our customers. We see the sale of certified biogas as a natural product on the shelves,” the civil engineer Asger Myken from Dong told Ingeniøren.
The chairman of Linkogas, Aksel Buchholt, told Ingeniøren that Dong Energy was the company that knew best how to integrate biogas into the general energy supply. He was also pleased with the commercial implications for Linkogas. “We’re of course also looking forward to having a steady sales channel for our biogas for many years to come,” he said.
