Ground and cargo handling giants WFS to take over
One of the world’s leading ground and cargo handling services, Swissport, has revealed that it has agreed to divest its cargo business at Copenhagen Airport to French-based Worldwide Flight Services (WFS).
The deal, which will come into effect on October 1, means that most of the employees will move to WFS, while the Swissport exit process will begin immediately.
“The sale of the Copenhagen cargo business to WFS includes all business activities currently carried out by Swissport Cargo Services Denmark as well as all assets,” Swissport wrote in a press release.

A short stay
Swissport only recently entered the Nordic market, setting up shop in Copenhagen in 2012. Its cargo warehouse will be sub-leased out to WFS.
WFS provides ground and cargo handling services at over 120 locations worldwide and handles 3.5 million tonnes of cargo every year.
