Nicklas Bendtner is on his way to Italy while two other Danish talents have been signed by European powerhouses
With the transfer window for European teams closing at midnight tonight, a number of Danish players have either already moved or expecting to move to new clubs.
Nicklas Bendtner has been rumoured to be off to Italy for a few days now. and it looks like it will be Juventus that will acquire his signature, although club director Giuseppe Marotta indicated signing Bendtner was more out of need than desire.
“Bendtner isn’t the star striker that we had hoped to sign, but it’s a chance we’ve had to take in the current difficult market,” Marotta told Italian sports newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The future of Denmark’s national team looks brighter after Inter Milan snapped up young starlet Patrick Olsen from Brøndby. Also Lukas Andersen is set to move to Ajax to join the five-some of Danes already playing there.
FC Copenhagen have had a busy day in the transfer market, selling three players. Bryan Oviedo was sold to Everton, Johan Absalonsen is off to Sønderjyske and Petter Hansson has been shipped off to Helsingborg in Sweden.
Brian Hamalainen has moved from one Belgian team to another, a better one at that, as Zulte Waregem have sold him to Racing Genk.
A number of other Danish players are rumoured to be making transfers, one of which, Simon Kjær, may be moving to Queen Park Rangers from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.
An overview of all today's transfers will follow on Monday.
