The ball is in FC Nordsjælland’s court following FC Copenhagen’s draw at SønderjyskE
The Superliga action over the weekend saw FCK only manage a draw against SønderjyskE, and the leaders will lose their top spot in the league if FCN beat OB tonight.
Despite dominating most of the game, FCK found themselves 0-2 down before two late goals by Christian Bolaños and Sölvi Ottesen salvaged a draw.
A first half strike by Eyolfur Hedinsson against the run of play was followed up by a brilliant solo effort from Lasse Vibe after 50 minutes. Bolaños pulled one back with 15 minutes to go, before former SønderjyskE player Ottesen equalised with five minutes left to play.
But the champions left it too late, and FCN can put themselves in the driver’s seat with a win tonight at home against struggling OB.
FCK have only taken two points from their last three games and are in danger of throwing away a league title that was all but assured only a few weeks ago.
“Of course I am disappointed, but had we scored the first goal, things could have looked differently,” FCK’s Swedish goalkeeper Johan Wiland said according to FCK’s website. “But we came back strong and almost scored to win 3-2. Whether we can use the point for anything remains to be seen.”
After this evening's match, there are only two rounds of the Superliga left to be played, with FCK meeting FC Midtjylland (currently fourth in table) away and Silkeborg (sixth) at home, while FCN face FCK's fiercest rivals Brøndby (ninth) away and then Horsens (third) at home.
FCN take on OB tonight at 19:00 in a bid to go one point ahead of FCK at the top of the Superliga table.
